[Announcement] Dunamu Announces Official Lineup and Program for UDC 2020
[Seoul - November 13, 2020] Dunamu Inc. (CEO Sirgoo Lee), operator of the global digital asset exchange Upbit, today announced the official lineup and program for the Upbit Developer Conference 2020 (UDC 2020). The five-day online-only event will be broadcast via the official UDC YouTube channel from November 30 (Mon.) to December 4 (Fri.), with each day featuring different blockchain experts from around the world sharing their insights on the biggest industry trends and issues.
Featuring the theme of “return blockchain * future; (Solving the Future with Blockchain)”, UDC 2020 will take an in-depth look at how blockchain technology is moving forward despite the global pandemic. Each day of UDC 2020 will offer multiple expert sessions covering a single topic, totaling under one hour to ensure an optimal online viewing experience. Broadcasts will begin at 11:30 a.m. (KST) each day to accommodate viewers that wish to join the sessions live during lunchtime.
On Day 1, Dunamu CEO Sirgoo Lee will discuss the main theme and significance of UDC 2020, the blockchain industry’s outlook for 2021, and key UDC 2020 programs in the first session. The opening keynote will feature Edgardo Yu, the Chief of Beneficiary Services for the UN World Food Programme(WFP)’s Technology Division. The WFP was awarded the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for “its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.”
Starting with day 2, UDC takes an in-depth look at key blockchain trends for 2021. On December 1st, Christopher Giancarlo, Senior Counsel for Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and the 13th Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and Hong-Kyu Lee, CEO of Unchain, will give presentations on one of the biggest current issues in blockchain, central bank digital currencies (CBDC).
The keyword for Wednesday, December 2nd is decentralized finance (DeFi). Gustav Arentoft, Business Development Representative in Europe for the Maker Foundation, and Eric Yoo, CSO of DXM, which operates Trinito, South Korea’s first DeFi service, will share their insights on the current and future state of DeFi.
On December 3, UDC focuses on regulatory challenges facing blockchain in 2021. Goo-Soon Lee, deputy director of the Financial News Blockchain Team will lead a panel discussion on the topic with Jong-Soo Yoon, a partner at Lee&Ko and the head of the firm’s Fintech/Blockchain Team, Joon-Kee Hong, Head of Asia for Cumberland DRW, a subsidiary of renowned principal trading firm, DRW, and Ji-hoon Lim, CSO of Dunamu.
UDC 2020 closes on December 4th with special sessions that highlight how some of UDC 2019’s most talked-about presenters are continuing to drive innovation and change through blockchain technology.
Jong-Yoon Kim, CEO of Online Business & Corporate Strategy at South Korea’s biggest online leisure and accommodation booking platform Yanolja, Jay Park, CEO of Lambda 256, and Dr. Leemon Baird, Co-Founder & Chief Scientist of Hedera Hashgraph, will be the featured speakers.

First held in September 2018, UDC is South Korea’s first conference dedicated to blockchain developers, with programs focused on free exchange of ideas, in-depth discussions, and community building. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, UDC 2020 will be held as an online-only event. From November 30 to December 4, UDC 2020 will be broadcast starting 11:30 a.m. (KST) and can be viewed free-of-charge on the official YouTube channel.
