[Notice] Upbit New Feature — Transfer Digital Assets Using Mobile Phone Numbers
You can now transfer digital assets to other Upbit users via the recipient’s mobile phone number. The new feature was designed to support faster and easier (and free!) account-to-account digital asset transfers between Upbit users.
From the ‘Deposit/Withdrawal’ menu in your Upbit mobile app, select the digital asset you want to transfer. After entering the transfer amount, you can either enter the recipient’s mobile phone number directly or select one from your contacts. You will also need to enter the recipient’s full name. If the name and number don’t match, the transfer will be automatically canceled after 24 hours. Once Kakao Pay verification is completed, a notification text message is sent to the recipient.
If the recipient is already an Upbit member with Level 2 verification or higher, they can receive the digital assets without any additional steps. For lower levels, phone number (Level 1) and email (Level 0) authentications are required. Non-members can receive the digital assets after opening an Upbit account and completing the verification process. The transfer is automatically canceled if the transfer process isn’t completed within 24 hours.
As of now, the new feature is only available to South Korean users. The feature is free to use, and the daily transfer limit is KRW 5 million (approx. USD 4,200).
